Tim Kennedy is less than pleased after being accused of falsifying his military achievements and committing stolen valor, which is when an individual falsifies or lies about military service and/or achievements. The 45-year old ex-UFC veteran served in the U.S military from 2004 until 2009, and then again in 2017, with Kennedy competing professionally in mixed martial arts in between his two stints of service.
During his days with the UFC, the former fighter discussed his military career without issue.Kennedy's, Scars and Stripes: An Unapologetically American Story of Fighting the Taliban, UFC Warriors, and Myself, came out in 2022, and has caused a stir amongst the U.S. veteran community.
Several of the claims made by Kennedy in the book have been identified and dissected by former special forces operators, who have labeled the ex-UFC fighter a liar.
He was most recently called out on The Antihero Podcast by Brent Tucker. Tucker took to Instagram to share an interview in which Kennedy admits to forgetting several of his team members' names who had died in combat. He juxtaposed the clip with an interview where a former serviceman on The Antihero Podcast, who had stated that he would never forget the names of those who passed alongside him in battle.

This specific post, more than any other, appeared to irk Kennedy, as he said this in a video which was directed at Tucker:
"When you're having Memorial Day, and I can't remember their names... Yeah, it freakin' sucks. And for you to insinuate that I don't care about them, f**k you! Just f**k you. I can keep going and going. But no matter how many things there are, and no matter how many answers I give, there will never be enough for some people." [9:17-9:53]

Former U.S. Special Forces Sergeant Major admits to beating up Tim Kennedy in the army
Tim Kennedy's time in the army was not all smooth sailing according to retired Sergeant Major John McPhee, who recently discussed the time he, along with several other operators, handed Tim Kennedy a beating.
The incident came during Kennedy's first stint in the military, after a brief MMA career from 2001-2003. During McPhee's appearance on the Shawn Ryan Show, he said this:
"The f**king incessant talking s**t about kicking everybody's a*s. Then one day I just [said], 'You're gonna kick all of our a**es?' [And Kennedy said], 'Yeah.' And I was like, 'Meet me at the dojo at midnight.'"
He continued:
"I was like, 'We're gonna fight in the order of rank.' The new guys didn't like it... I was second-to-last because the captain went last... I was like, 'It's gotta be on me.' I just made sure in the time I had bloodied [Kennedy] up and made sure he was down."
